On the morning of October 24, 2025, the Second China Museum Studies Conference officially opened in Suzhou. This conference was hosted by the China Museum Association, with the Suzhou Museum Association and Suzhou Museum as the organizing units, supported by the Tencent Foundation and the Suzhou Museum Development Foundation. The theme of the conference was "The Future of Sustainable Development in Museums," aiming to gather academic ideas, explore practical paths, and collaboratively outline the future blueprint for sustainable development in Chinese museums.

During the conference, the Natural Science and Technology Museum Professional Committee of the China Museum Association was officially established. Attendees included Liu Shuguang, President of the China Museum Association, Jiang Daorong, Party Secretary of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Ai Jingfang, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Museum Association, and representatives from over twenty natural science and technology museums, comprehensive museums, and related enterprises across the country. Following deliberation by the 11th meeting of the 7th Council of the China Museum Association, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum took the lead in establishing the Natural Science and Technology Museum Professional Committee. The organizational structure of the committee was officially elected during the conference.

Niu Kecheng, Executive Director of the Fujian Yingliang Stone Natural History Museum, was elected as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Professional Committee, with the Yingliang Museum becoming a standing committee unit. Receiving this dual honor among nearly 2,000 natural science and technology museums nationwide is particularly commendable. This recognition not only reflects the affirmation of the Fujian Yingliang Stone Natural History Museum's professional capabilities and contributions to natural history, science communication, research, and collection development by the broader industry represented by the China Museum Association, but also signifies a high recognition of Director Niu Kecheng's personal professional abilities.

Natural science and technology museums are an essential component of the national innovation system and the modern public cultural service system. The establishment of the professional committee is an objective demand for the high-quality development of China's museum sector and a necessary response to the public's eager expectations for scientific culture. This initiative will significantly promote academic research, resource sharing, and inter-museum collaboration in the field of natural science and technology museums in China, enhancing the overall influence and professionalism of the industry.
Facing new responsibilities and missions, the Fujian Yingliang Stone Natural History Museum will unwaveringly pursue the principle of "long-termism," which is reflected not only in its continuous accumulation of collections and academic depth but also in its sense of responsibility as a standing committee unit. At the same time, the Yingliang Museum will follow the development and progress of natural science and technology museums in China, exploring innovative development paths for natural science and technology museums in the context of the new era together with colleagues nationwide, contributing solid and unique strength to shaping future citizens' scientific literacy and serving the country's strategies for becoming a technological and cultural powerhouse.
