Passing the Torch at Xiamen University, Striving Toward a Brighter Future

Liu Liang, Chairman of Yingliang Group, was invited to the 105th Anniversary Celebration of Xiamen University & Outstanding Alumni Forum of Biology Discipline and delivered a keynote speech.

As a key event of the anniversary celebrations, the 10th Outstanding Alumni Forum of Xiamen University Biology Discipline grandly kicked off as scheduled.

On April 9, Liu Liang, an alumnus of the School of Life Sciences, Xiamen University and Chairman of Yingliang Group, returned to his alma mater upon invitation. He delivered a wonderful speech titled Profession and Passion for teachers, students and distinguished guests present. Blending profound insights, sincere life reflections and remarkable career achievements, he shared his entrepreneurial journey and life perceptions to inspire young students.

He enrolled at Xiamen University in 1989 and graduated in 1993. In 1996, he resolved to start his own business and founded the company in 1999. His brand took shape in 2012. In 2019, he established the world’s first industrial museum themed on stone materials. In 2026, the home furnishing brand under his group made its debut in Milan, the global capital of design. Over more than three decades of trials and hardships, Chairman Liu has stayed committed to the stone industry. Guided by the scientific thinking, professional competence and life beliefs nurtured during his college years, he has integrated the rigorous logic and spirit of exploring nature from life science into corporate development and cultural inheritance.

In his speech Profession and Passion, Chairman Liu reviewed his journey of studying, starting, sustaining and expanding his business, and had in-depth exchanges with students around dedication, professionalism and passion. He sent his best wishes to the young audience: equip yourselves with professional expertise, devote your professionalism to what you love, and elevate your expertise with passion, so as to embrace a fulfilling life. His speech was free of empty preaching, filled only with genuine experiences and heartfelt thoughts.

At the forum, Liu Liang was awarded the title of Distinguished Alumnus by the Biology Discipline of Xiamen University. He stated that Xiamen University was where his dream set sail. His life experience proves that professionalism lays a solid foundation for life, passion fuels the journey ahead, and persistent dedication leads to success.
