On May 20, Professor David Nemazee — 2025 Crafoord Prize laureate and a top immunology authority from Scripps Research in the United States — visited the Fujian Yingliang Stone Natural History Museum for a tour and exchange. Yang Lan, assistant to the museum director, and Wang Xinyu, a museum staff member, received and accompanied him with introductions.

Awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Crafoord Prize is a world-top academic honor that complements the Nobel Prize. Its polyarthritis award, focusing on autoimmune diseases and frontier immunology research, is extremely prestigious. For his pioneering research on B-cell self-tolerance mechanisms, Professor David Nemazee won the 2025 Crafoord Prize in polyarthritis, making him a benchmark scholar in global autoimmune disease and immunology research.

During his visit, Professor David Nemazee went through the Fujian Yingliang Stone Natural History Museum, the fossil and mineral restoration laboratory, and Warehouse No. 5 of the Global Stone Selection Center, gaining an in-depth understanding of Yingliang's exploration and practice in natural history collection preservation, scientific research, science communication, and stone resource application.

The visit and high praise from Professor David Nemazee — the 2025 Crafoord Prize laureate in polyarthritis and a world-leading immunology scholar — is an authoritative recognition of and great encouragement for Yingliang Museum's collection building, research, and science communication. In the future, the museum will continue to deepen its work in collection preservation, academic research, and science communication, constantly optimize and upgrade its exhibition system, and fully leverage its unique industrial and collection resources. At the same time, it will actively connect with top international resources, using stone as a medium and the museum's own language to tell the stone story well, supporting the high-quality development of domestic museums' stone natural-history science education.
