On April 24, the 2026 annual special exhibition of Xiamen Science & Technology Museum — 'Hi! Sea Monsters,' a paleo-marine fossil science exhibition — officially opened. Jointly created by the Fujian Yingliang Stone Natural History Museum and Xiamen Science & Technology Museum, the exhibition centers on the evolution of ancient marine life and fossil science. Through precious fossil specimens, scientific interpretation, and immersive displays, it takes visitors on a journey across hundreds of millions of years to explore the mysterious world of the creatures that once ruled the ancient oceans.

Taking the ancient marine ecosystem as its starting point, the exhibition transforms professional paleobiological knowledge into more intuitive, vivid, and engaging science content. As visitors observe fossils up close and learn about the course of life's evolution, they also experience the unique charm of natural history and earth sciences. The rich exhibits and interactive design further enhance the sense of participation and discovery.

With its rigorous exhibits and immersive, both educational and entertaining science experience, 'Hi! Sea Monsters' has drawn wide attention from the industry, mainstream media, and the public since its opening. During the May Day holiday alone, it attracted over 83,000 visits, offering the public a paleo-marine exploration feast that was scientific, visually striking, and educational.

This collaboration is also a positive step by the Fujian Yingliang Stone Natural History Museum to continuously promote the social sharing of natural science resources and expand public science communication. In the future, the museum will continue to leverage its collections and research strengths, join hands with more outstanding cultural and science institutions, and bring natural science closer to the public through diverse exhibitions and public education programs — so that the Earth's hundreds-of-millions-of-years-old stories can be seen and understood in more vivid ways.
